Issledovalas' dinamika magnitosfernogo magnitnogo polya vo vremya magnitnykh bur' raznoi intensivnosti. Variatsii magnitnogo polya na poverkhnosti Zemli rasschityvalis' s pomoshch'yu paraboloidnoi modeli magnitosfery s uchetom induktsionnykh tokov, protekayushchikh v diamagnitno-provodyashchei Zemle. Dlya 10 magnitnykh bur' rasschitany Dst i sostavlyayushchie Dst. Pokazano, chto otnositel'nye vklady magnitosfernykh istochnikov v Dst menyayutsya v zavisimosti ot moshchnosti buri. Dlya slabykh i umerennykh bur' vklad tokovogo sloya khvosta mozhet dostigat' znachenii, sravnimykh s vkladom kol'tsevogo toka, a inogda dazhe prevyshat' ego. Dlya sil'nykh bur' pole kol'tsevogo toka dominiruet nad polem tokov khvosta, ne prevyshayushchim po absolyutnomu znacheniyu velichiny 150 nTl, kotoraya dostigaetsya i v buryakh men'shei intensivnosti. Dlya bur' s minimal'nym Dst, prevyshayushchim –200 nTl, pole tokov khvosta ispytyvaet nasyshchenie, v to vremya kak kol'tsevoi tok nakhoditsya v usloviyakh, kogda on imeet vozmozhnost' dlya dal'neishego razvitiya.
